Coffee & Tea - Day 38

I drink coffee like it's my job.  I have two cups a day and sometimes a third in the afternoon.  I love my cream and sugar but I can drink it black.  I love all kinds, the real stuff and the Starbucks sugary stuff.  Dunkin Donuts has the best coffee by far, though.

Fire-Startes - Day 37

I have never started a fire.
I wish I could elaborate and tell a warm tale.
But unfortunately, I've never even lit a match.
But I do enjoy sitting by a fire and being with family.
There's nothing quite so comforting.

Puzzle - Day 36

Puzzles frustrate me so this isn't the best post for me.
I try but I don't have a logical mind and by the end, I'll have thrown puzzle pieces everywhere.
My daughter loves them though, so I enjoy watching her piece them together.

Frame It - Day 35

Follow your dreams
Live life to the fullest
Laugh as much as you can
Dance when you need to feel free
Sing like no one's there

War And Peace - Day 34

War can be anything from real war to an argument between friends.  Sometimes peace can be found and sometimes the only peace can come from complete separation.  It may not be what both parties want or maybe it is but that can be the only way for people to find calm.  Sometimes time apart can bring people closer together.

Sounds - Day 33

I sat outside at lunch today and I heard sirens, cars, birds and wind.
I wish that what I had heard was gentle rain hitting the pavement.
Not a storm but a sun shower, to give some piece to the chaos of everyday.

Jewelry - Day 32

I have scene a plain silver cross on a simple silver chain.
It was given to a girl by a man who couldn't even touch it.
His love for her was so strong, he couldn't stay.

Rewrite a Poem - Day 31

Dreams - By Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
 Hold tight to fantasy
For they never fade
Life is a caged animal
That can't be freed

Hold tight to fantasy
For when it leaves
Life is a dessert
With no water

The Professor - Day 30

The teacher that has influenced me the most over my years in school is Dr. David Brooks.  He was my Junior year World History teacher and he was so good I can still draw the entire world, freehand, and label the countries.  He told history like a story which made it easy to learn and know, not just memorize.  I haven't seen him since I graduated but he published a book which I loved as well.  I'd love to let him know how much I appreciated his amazing work.
